Responsibilities

• Prepare and set up facility, environment and therapy equipment for sessions.
• Transfer patients with assistance and/or equipment as needed.
• Conduct safe manual handling training for TAs as instructed by the therapist.
• Assist therapist during assessment or re-assessment of patients.
• Conduct simple outcome measures for low complexity patients.
• Deliver segments of therapy interventions under supervision.
• Implement review sessions for manual wheelchair mobility training.
• Implement review sessions for powered mobility training.
• Assist with making hand splints and pressure garments when required.
• Assist in wound care management where necessary.
• Assist in caregiver training sessions and parts of caregiver training.
• Support group therapy sessions and run simple group activities.
• Set up technology-based/robotics interventions and assist in their use.
• Communicate patient-related details and results to the primary therapist.
• Document simple templated entries in medical notes with countersigning from therapists.
• Complete form-based checklists and ensure patient safety.
• Buddy and train new junior TAs, deliver training contents/modules.
• Assist in orientation, supervision of junior TAs, and related duties.
• Adhere to department policies and demonstrate professionalism with patients and colleagues.
