Job Description:
1. Tender Preparation
- Study and analyze tender documents including drawings, specifications, bill of quantities (BOQ), and contract conditions.
- Perform quantity take-offs and measurements from drawings and models (including digital take-off tools such as Cubicost or CostX).
- Prepare preliminary cost estimates and detailed cost breakdowns.
- Source and analyze quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
2. Costing and Estimation
- Develop accurate cost plans and pricing strategies based on project requirements and market conditions.
- Analyze cost data from past projects and update internal pricing databases.
- Identify potential cost risks and propose value engineering options.
- Ensure costing aligns with contractual requirements and project specifications.
3. Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with internal departments (engineering, procurement, planning) for technical inputs and project requirements.
- Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, and consultants to obtain accurate cost information and quotations.
- Attend tender clarification meetings and site visits when necessary.
4. Documentation & Submission
- Prepare and compile tender submission documents including BOQ, pricing schedules, and supporting data.
- Ensure all documentation complies with client requirements and submission deadlines.
- Assist in preparing post-tender clarifications and cost negotiations.
5. Continuous Improvement
- Provide cost feedback and analysis after tender results for benchmarking.
- Contribute to the development of cost libraries and tendering SOPs.
- Mentor junior quantity surveyors in tendering practices and cost analysis.
Job Requirements:
- Candidate must possess at least a Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in tendering, cost estimation, or pre-contract quantity surveying.
- Experience in handling large-scale or mega project tenders.
- Experience in Archi works with at least 2 track record projects (Main Contractor experience preferred).
- Familiarity with local construction cost trends and material prices in Singapore.
- Knowledge in BIM-based take-off and digital estimation tools.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Proficient in quantity take-off software and Microsoft Excel.
- Familiar with various standard forms of contract (e.g., SIA, PSSCOC, FIDIC).
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Detail-oriented with ability to work under tight deadlines.
- To be based in project site office- West region.
