Job summary

A leading technology solutions provider in Singapore is seeking a Senior Technical Support Engineer to provide 1st and 2nd level support for its equipment. The candidate will lead training initiatives and address technical inquiries while collaborating with diverse teams. The ideal applicant should have a strong background in engineering, familiarity with SMT processes, and excellent interpersonal skills. This role also requires a willingness to travel as needed.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in SMT and Advanced Packaging Process and Applications.
  • Basic project management knowledge is an advantage.
  • Experience in leading a team is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform machine installation, commissioning, and production monitoring.
  • Act as 2nd level regional support for internal and external customers.
  • Deliver on-site product training to customers and internal teams.

Job description
Role:

As a Senior Technical Support Engineer, the candidate will be responsible for providing 1st and 2nd level technical support to local customers, as well as regional and global escalation support for the company’s equipment. The candidate is expected to follow up on open issues until they are resolved and communicate solutions to regional service teams and/or customers.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform machine installation, commissioning, and production monitoring
  • Act as 2nd level regional support for internal and external customers in Rest of Asia, addressing all aspects of service activities
  • Respond to customer and regional service calls; attend to problems at customer sites when required
  • Deliver on-site product training (hardware/software) to customers and internal teams, including Field Service Engineers, as a designated technical product champion for ASMPT
  • Lead or contribute to global training projects by formulating course content and materials; standardize training scope and deliver professionally
  • Develop and conduct refresher training for trainers and Field Service Engineers
  • Drive continuous improvement by developing new ideas and technologies for product training delivery that add value to our customers
  • Participate in other technical‑related activities specific to our SMT Solutions offerings
Requirements:
  • Diploma or Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering

  • Familiarity with Fuji and Panasonic equipment is a plus
