Job summary

Lonza Group Ltd. in Singapore seeks a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead readiness activities for technology transfers, manage run and release processes, and drive continuous improvement in manufacturing operations. You will mentor junior staff, ensure data integrity, and collaborate with QA to close investigations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or science as specified.
• Ability to perform two of three manufacturing aspects: Readiness, Run, Release.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Excellent communication, presentation and technical writing skills.
• Experience leading deviation investigations and root cause analysis.
• Proactive in identifying improvements and driving CI initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support operational readiness activities for technology transfers and process campaigns.
• Manage and execute operational run activities; support deviation assessments, CAPAs, and rejected material management.
• Lead investigations for deviations, non-conformities, and trends; perform root cause analysis and define CAPAs.
• Facilitate discussions with SMEs and Quality Assurance to ensure timely investigation closure and lot disposition.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within Manufacturing operations and identify tangible benefits.
• Initiate and mentor junior team members to develop within the department.
• Uphold data integrity; evaluate and improve processes per Lonza policies.

What you will do

• Lead and support operational readiness activities for technology transfers and process campaigns, including MBR development/revision and Change Requests.
• Manage and execute operational run activities, supporting deviation assessments, CAPAs, and rejected material management.
• Lead investigations for deviations, non-conformities, and trends, performing root cause analysis and defining appropriate CAPAs.
• Facilitate discussions with SMEs and Quality Assurance specialists to ensure timely investigation closure and lot disposition.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within Manufacturing operations, identifying and implementing tangible benefits.
• Initiate and actively guide/mentor junior team members, fostering their development within the department.
• Uphold data integrity principles, proactively evaluating and improving processes in accordance with Lonza policies.

What we are looking for

• A bachelor's degree in engineering (Chemical/Biochemical) or Science (Biochemistry/Chemistry/Microbiology).
• Demonstrated ability to perform two out of three critical manufacturing aspects: Readiness, Run, and Release.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and operational knowledge of manufacturing equipment.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and technical writing skills.
• Proven ability to manage changing priorities and deliver results with agility.
• Experience in leading deviation investigations and root cause analysis using structured methodologies (e.g., 5-Why's, Ishikawa).
• A proactive approach to identifying areas for improvement and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
