Get to Know the Role
The primary purpose of the role is to ensure that the full spectrum of tax support for Singaporegroup of companies is well managed. Focusing on direct/indirect tax compliance, tax provisions, transfer pricing, advisory as well as development and implementation of tax strategies.
As part of the regional leadership, this role also has supervisory responsibilities of the South East Asia (SEA) based tax team.
This role reports to the Head of Tax, based onsite at our One North Office.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
Strategy
- To proactively identify value opportunities, contribute to the development and implementation of tax strategies for the Singapore Group.
- Supporting Head of Tax, and partnering regional and local finance directors, treasury, controllers to influence development of sustainable tax initiatives that achieves Group’s objectives.
Risk Management
- Support SEA Tax teams in reviewing and signing off material corporate income tax returns and indirect tax returns.
- Advising SEA Tax teams in resolving disputes and controversies for SEA jurisdictions and together with the SEA Tax teams drive any material settlement or litigation matters.
- Ensure judgemental decisions regarding material uncertain tax positions in respect of transactions are escalated with an appropriate recommendation.
- Provide support to SEA Tax teams in the roll out of group wide tax risk management initiatives.
Tax Reporting & Forecasting
- Ensure accurate and timely quarterly tax reporting, tax forecasts of the Singapore’s effective tax rate and other reporting as required for Group reporting purposes.
- Compile and report on Singapore tax liabilities in compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
- Ensure Singapore tax returns are accurate and submitted to the tax authority in accordance with the statutory timelines.
- Review legislative and regulatory changes and ensure that the business is informed of relevant changes.
Transfer Pricing
- Provide Transfer Pricing advice and support for group cost recharges related matters to the entire Group network.
- Support Advance Pricing Agreements, Mutual Agreement Procedures, and transfer pricing audits.
Business
- Provide oversight for the deliverables by external advisers of tax matters and reporting advice to management and on M&A transactions, where required partnering with the Corporate Development division.
- Sign off all regional tax aspects of change in capital request and structure forms and repatriation requests.

What Essential Skills You Will Need
- 12+ years of experience in the big4 and MNCs with people leadership skills
- Strong experience in implementation of regional tax strategies
- Subject matter expert on SEA regimes
- Effective communication skills including discussion with stakeholders
