Job description

Overview

Permanent – Mon – Fri 8:30 am – 6 pm. Locations: Island‑wide, likely AMK, Bukit Merah or Science Park. Up to SGD 6,400 plus VB.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools.
• Proactively ensure the highest levels of system and infrastructure availability.
• Monitor and test application performance for bottlenecks, identify solutions and work with developers to implement fixes.
• Maintain security, backup and redundancy strategies.
• Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Participate in the design of information and operational support systems.
• Provide project documentation and reports.
• Liaise with vendors and contractors for problem resolution.

Project Scope

• Nutanix HCI installation and deployment.
• Bare‑metal installation and deployment.
• Installation of system OS (e.g., Red Hat, Linux) and COTS hardening.

Requirements

• Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Computer or Electronics Engineering, Information Technology or equivalent.
• Good knowledge and hands‑on experience in computer/server hardware troubleshooting and peripheral replacement.
• Experience with Windows Server OS, Unix/Linux OS and VM environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to convey technical ideas to technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Pro‑active, dynamic and with good analytical/conceptual thinking.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team with good interpersonal skills.
• Nice to have: experience and knowledge of CI/CD, scripting (Bash/Python) and programming (Java/C++).
• Nice to have: experience in network or cyber design.
