Job summary

ST Engineering Info-Security invites a Senior Systems and Network Engineer to join our Jurong East team. You will maintain and enhance enterprise IT infrastructures, ensure reliability, security, and efficiency for client environments, and lead technical incident resolutions.

The role emphasizes proactive maintenance, strong Windows and RHEL expertise, and collaboration with client teams to uphold service levels and security standards.

Qualifications

• <6–8 years of IT infrastructure management and/or information security experience in enterprise or customer-centric environments.
• Deep expertise in IT infrastructure components, including hardware, software, operating systems, networking and security principles.
• Proven track record in IT operations management, including system administration, patch management and performance monitoring.
• Strong proficiency in Windows and RHEL operating systems, with experience in firewalls, switches and load balancers.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to articulate technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
• Experience with vendor management and a proactive approach to learning new technologies and methodologies.
• OT (Operational Technology) experience is an advantage.
• Ability to support round‑the‑clock standby duties.

Responsibilities

• Lead root-cause analysis for complex incidents and act as escalation point for infrastructure issues.
• Maintain and optimize servers and network devices (firewalls, load balancers, switches) across Windows and RHEL environments.
• Perform incident and problem management to restore services within SLAs.
• Advise clients on performance, capacity planning and optimization strategies.
• Implement security controls including patch management and vulnerability remediation.
• Apply changes and releases following governance to maintain system integrity and security posture.
• Document configurations, SOPs, recovery procedures, and produce incident post-mortems and RCA reports.
• Coordinate with client teams, internal departments and external providers for audits, changes and DR exercises.
• Communicate risks and service impacts clearly to stakeholders, including non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrate autonomous task ownership and participate in 24x7 standby as required.

Description

Join ST Engineering Info-Security Pte. Ltd. within the Infrastructure Sustainment Services Business Unit, Customer Success Division, as a Senior Systems and Network Engineer. This pivotal role is designed for a seasoned IT professional dedicated to maintaining and enhancing the reliability, security, and efficiency of enterprise IT infrastructures for our valued clients.

As a Senior Engineer, you will be instrumental in ensuring that complex network environments and IT systems remain resilient and secure, thereby enabling uninterrupted business operations. Your role will involve proactive management of IT infrastructure, swift resolution of incidents, and continuous improvement of system performance and security protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage root-cause analysis initiatives, spearheading the resolution of complex technical incidents and serving as a critical escalation point for infrastructure-related issues.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on diverse IT infrastructure components, including servers, network devices (firewalls, load balancers, switches), and operating systems such as Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), ensuring optimal service availability and stability.
• Execute incident and problem management processes in alignment with organisational standards, facilitating timely restoration of services within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Provide expert advice to clients on performance enhancement, capacity planning, and optimization strategies to improve overall infrastructure efficiency.
• Implement and manage security controls encompassing patch management, vulnerability remediation, access control, system hardening, in strict adherence to clients’ security policies and industry best practices.
• Ensure rigorous application of security patches and updates following established Change and Release Management protocols to uphold system integrity and robust security postures.
• Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date documentation, including system configurations, SOPs, maintenance and recovery procedures, along with detailed incident and problem records. Generate insightful operational and security reports, such as incident post-mortems and Root Cause Analyses, to support transparent communication with management and clients.
• Collaborate closely with client teams, internal departments, and external service providers to guarantee integrated IT and Operational Technology (OT) operations. Coordinate activities related to audits, incidents, changes, and Disaster Recovery exercises.
• Communicate technical risks, service impacts, and recommended solutions effectively to stakeholders, including non-technical audiences, ensuring clarity and awareness.
• Demonstrate autonomous working capabilities, effective prioritisation, accountability, and ownership of assigned tasks and improvement initiatives.
• Provide support for 24×7 standby duties, ensuring continuous coverage and availability as required by operational demands.

Skills And Qualifications

• A minimum of 6 to 8 years’ experience in IT infrastructure management and/or information security within enterprise or customer-centric environments, demonstrating a thorough understanding and capability in managing complex systems.
• Deep expertise in IT infrastructure components, including hardware, software, operating systems, networking, and security principles.
• Proven track record in IT operations management encompassing system administration, patch management, and performance monitoring.
• Strong proficiency in Windows and RHEL operating systems, network technologies such as firewalls, switches, and load balancers, and related network services.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills combined with excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated capability in vendor management and a proactive attitude towards continuous learning and adoption of emerging technologies and methodologies.
• Experience working with Operational Technology (OT) environments is considered an advantage, highlighting adaptability to varied infrastructure domains.
• Ability to support and contribute to round-the-clock standby duties ensuring operational excellence.
