Responsibilities:
- Lead and guide technical teams in deploying, configuring, and optimizing RHEL, JBoss, WebLogic, MQ, and Kafka solutions.
- Develop, deploy, and support applications on RHEL, JBoss, WebLogic, MQ, and Kafka.
- Write and optimize SQL queries for Oracle/MySQL databases.
- Drive automation and process improvements to enhance system efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Administrate and manage Linux and Unix servers. Troubleshoot and maintain Unix/Linux-based applications in the servers.
- Assist in system monitoring, logging, and automation.
- Provide support for infrastructure and middleware-related incidents.
- Collaborate with teams for project delivery and documentation.
- Ensure system security, patching, and compliance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware, software, and networking issues.
- Automate tasks using shell scripting or configuration management tools.
- Maintain robust backup and disaster recovery procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for deployments and upgrades.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Contribute to IT strategy, architecture, and infrastructure planning.
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as needed.
- Participate in a rotating shift schedule of 2 days, 2 nights, followed by 4 days off to provide 24x7 support, including weekends and holidays
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field.
- At least 6 years of experience in Linux system administration with proven ability to manage a team and projects effectively, with expertise in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and experience in technical delivery, infrastructure management, and middleware platforms.
- Red Hat certifications (e.g. Red Hat Certified Specialist, RHCSA, RHCE) is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Linux system design and architecture, networking, and security. Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, log shipping issues, connectivity issues, security issues etc. Ability to detect and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention.
- Proficiency in UNIX shell scripting and other scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet).
- Experience in JBoss, WebLogic, MQ, and Kafka.
- VMware configurations and administration.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to system reliability
