Job summary

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Sovereign Cloud team in Singapore seeks an experienced IT professional to install, configure, and maintain complex systems for government and sovereign cloud environments.

You will manage backups, monitoring, identity controls, and batch processes while ensuring high availability and compliance with security standards. Strong scripting and documentation skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• At least 8+ years of experience in relevant IT fields such as network administration, systems architecture or database management.
• Strong knowledge of operating systems, installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Experience with cloud computing deployments, security, and integration projects.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, servers, middleware, cloud infrastructure, applications, and hardware for reliable performance.
• Handle backups, capacity planning, performance monitoring, auditing, and provisioning tasks.
• Use monitoring tools and dashboards to detect issues, improve efficiency, and maintain service performance.
• Manage identity and access controls, including user permissions, activity monitoring, and access provisioning.
• Monitor and manage batch processes using schedulers, ensuring SLA compliance.
• Apply regular patches and updates addressing security vulnerabilities and performance issues.
• Maintain system security across compute, storage, file systems, and privileged accounts per compliance standards.
• Support incident management by troubleshooting issues, handling escalations, and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to resolve system issues, support integrations, and ensure high availability.
• Monitor production environments through logs, dashboards, and ticket systems to proactively identify risks.
• Perform backup, restore, and disaster recovery activities, and participate in recovery drills.
• Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate documentation for systems, processes, configurations, and recovery plans.
• Support cloud operations through CI/CD pipelines, patching, upgrades, automation, and system optimization.

What You’ll Do

What You’ll Need

• This role is open only to Singapore Citizens, as the scope of work involves government projects that require citizenship for clearance purposes.
• 8+ years of experience in network administration, systems architecture, database management, or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of operating systems, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Skilled in performance tuning to optimize system and application efficiency.
• Experience with systems integration and supporting technology projects.
• Ability to create and maintain clear technical documentation.
• Knowledge of cloud computing, including deployment, management, and security.
• Proficient in scripting to automate tasks and improve system reliability.
