An established industry player is seeking a Senior Storage Engineer to lead the configuration and administration of advanced storage solutions. Configuring and administering Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) storage and associated components, Storage Area Network (SAN) including fibre channel switch administration, data restore and disaster recovery and data backup for clients and servers.
Maintaining storage aspects of new server integrations, storage allocations and change management.
Performing setup procedures to consolidate storage of data from different platforms (i.e. Windows, UNIX and LINUX).
Troubleshooting and fixing storage issues and also performing routine equipment check and preventative maintenance.
Performing storage analysis, capacity planning and performance planning of storage components.
Documenting the policies and procedures to support the operational storage environment and participating in the design and ongoing refinement of procedures and policies.
Preparing reports on storage administration best practices, new technologies, etc. and recommending enhancements and configuration changes to improve and optimize storage.
YOU BRING
Storage Management: Design, configure, implement, and maintain Hitachi storage systems G700, G800, G900, G1K, G1500.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor storage performance and capacity, ensuring optimal utilization and troubleshooting issues.
Storage Provisioning: Provision storage resources based on business requirements, including LUN creation, zoning, and mapping for Windows, Linux and Solaris Machines.
Data Migration: Plan and execute data migration projects, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Security Management: Implement and enforce security protocols to protect storage resources from unauthorized access or data breaches.
System Upgrades: Perform firmware and software upgrades on Hitachi storage systems, ensuring minimal downtime.
Disaster Recovery: Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans for storage infrastructure, conducting regular tests to validate effectiveness.
Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation of the storage environment, including configurations, procedures, and policies.
Vendor Management: Liaise with Hitachi and other vendors for support, maintenance, and procurement of storage solutions.
Technical Support: Provide level 2/3 support for storage-related issues, ensuring timely resolution.
