Job description

Senior Staff Nurse – Palliative Care

We are looking for an experienced Senior Staff Nurse to join an established healthcare organisation in Singapore, supporting patients with complex and advanced care needs.

This opportunity is suited for a nurse with good experience in palliative care who values the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with patients and families while taking greater ownership of their care journey.

You will work alongside a multi-disciplinary healthcare team to provide holistic, person-centred care, with a strong focus on symptom management, care coordination and supporting patients and families through different stages of illness.

The Role

You will provide and coordinate nursing care for patients with advanced and life-limiting conditions, applying sound clinical judgement to assess changing needs, manage symptoms and maintain patients’ comfort and quality of life.

Beyond direct nursing care, you will play an important role in care planning, patient and caregiver education, case coordination and supporting continuity of care.

Asa senior member of the nursing team, you will also provide guidance to junior colleagues and contribute to maintaining strong standards of nursing practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patients’ physical, clinical and psychosocial care needs and develop individualised nursing care plans.
  • Provide safe and compassionate nursing care for patients with advanced and complex illnesses.
  • Assess and manage pain and other symptoms with the wider clinical team to optimise patient comfort and quality of life.
  • Monitor patients’ conditions and respond appropriately to changes in their clinical and care needs.
  • Coordinate care and collaborate closely with medical, nursing, allied health and other care professionals.
  • Support medication management and nursing procedures within the appropriate scope of practice.
  • Educate and support patients and caregivers in understanding care needs and managing changes in patients’ conditions.
  • Provide appropriate support to patients and families navigating advanced illness and end-of-life care.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and support effective continuity of care.
  • Guide and support junior nurses and care staff where appropriate.
  • Participate in nursing education, professional development and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Uphold professional nursing standards and contribute to safe, high-quality care delivery.
What We’re Looking For
  • Diploma or Degree in Nursing.
  • Registered Nurse with the Singapore Nursing Board.
  • Minimum5 years of relevant nursing experience.
  • Good clinical experience in palliative care, including caring for patients with advanced or life-limiting conditions.
  • Experience in symptom management, care planning and patient/caregiver support.
  • Strong clinical judgement with the ability to manage complex and changing patient needs.
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to guide and support junior nursing colleagues.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when engaging patients and families through sensitive care situations.
  • Compassionate, mature and committed to delivering dignified, person-centred care.
Why Apply
Deepen your palliative nursing practice

Apply your clinical experience in an environment where symptom management, holistic assessment and continuity of care are central to nursing practice.

Build meaningful patient and family relationships

Support patients beyond their immediate clinical needs and play an important role in helping patients and families navigate complex stages of illness.

Take greater ownership of the care journey

Be actively involved in assessment, care planning, coordination and ongoing management rather than focusing only on individual episodes of care.

Broaden your contribution as a senior nurse

Use your experience to support junior colleagues, strengthen nursing practices and contribute to the quality of care delivered by the wider team.

For experienced nurses who are passionate about palliative care and are considering the next step in their nursing career, we would be happy to have a conversation.
