Qualifications

  • State Registered Nurse with minimum 5 years nursing experience in acute care.
  • 3 years’ experience in palliative, geriatric, or oncology care preferred.
  • Post-Basic training in Palliative Care Nursing or Community Health advantageous.

We are looking for a dynamic and energetic team-player who is keen to join and grow with our team as a Senior Staff Nurse (Day Care).

Reporting to the Nurse Clinician, the Senior Staff Nurse supports and provides care to patients with advanced life-limiting illnesses.

Job Scope :

  • Perform comprehensive palliative care assessment of day hospice patients
  • Perform screening & triaging of new referrals
  • Provide consultative advice, social engagement & psychosocial support to patients and family members based on care needs.
  • Support families and caregivers of patients and work with the rest of the multi-disciplinary team to provide symptom management, nursing care, psychological, emotional, and spiritual care.
  • Monitor patient’s symptoms whilst attending day care, administer medications as necessary and conduct appropriate escalation of care

Requirements :

  • Diploma or Degree in Nursing
  • State Registered Nurse with minimum 5 years of nursing experience in acute care setting.
  • 3 years’ experience as a staff nurse in a palliative, geriatric, or oncology care setting and/or community/centre-based setting is preferred.
  • Post-Basic training in Palliative Care Nursing, Gerontology or Community Health will be an advantage as it is relevant to the role in terms of skillsets.
  • Ability to speak a second language or dialect(s) is an advantage the patients comes from diverse groups.
  • Self-directed with the ability to work with little supervision.

The successful candidate can expect to earn up to $5,000 basic salary per month, commensurate with experience.
