Since October 2011, Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities (THKMC) was incorporated as a charity with an IPC status to provide multiple social and welfare services to the community at large.

THKMC provides assistance to various groups in our community through more than 60 programmes and services for the elderly and the sick, families, persons with disabilities, and children. We help anyone in need with full respect to their race, colour, creed, language, culture, and religion. We have more than 90 programmes and services, reaching out to more than 55,000 people in the community.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Give nursing care, including medication, treatment, and dealing with emergencies as well as supervision of the personal hygiene of the residents;
  2. Teach, guide, and discipline the resident;
  3. Ensure the general cleanliness of the premises;
  4. Ensure that the treatment room, sickbay, time out room, and nurse’s station are kept clean and tidy.

Duties:

  1. Managing and planning roster for staff;
  2. Screen, treat, and provide nursing care to sick residents;
  3. Attend/carry out routine procedures for all new admissions and residents returned from absconding;
  4. Refer sick residents for medical examination by the doctor;
  5. Arrange the appointment cards and transport of residents attending appointments at hospitals and polyclinics;
  6. Follow-up on residents who have been referred to hospitals;
  7. Update the residents’ medical cards daily (e.g., diagnosis, treatment, transfer, appointments, and discharges from hospitals);
  8. Serve medication to residents and supervise residents at meal times;
  9. Give first-aid treatment for emergency cases;
  10. Refer ill residents to hospital in the absence of the doctor;
  11. Supervise and mentor new Staff Nurses, Senior Enrolled Nurses, and Enrolled Nurses;
  12. Supervise the needs of residents who are attending morning school or going to work;
  13. Carry out necessary investigations arising from any incident that had taken place in the Home and update the Superintendent and Manager;
  14. Order and maintain supplies and equipment;
  15. Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Superintendent from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Recognised nursing qualification and registered with the Singapore Nursing Board.
