Job summary

OKX is hiring Java/C++ engineers for its Exchange Middle Platform. You will design, develop, and optimize core trading modules including the matching engine, real-time market data streaming, and data analysis.

The role emphasizes building scalable, low-latency, high-availability systems and leveraging AI to improve efficiency in a fast-paced environment. You’ll work on a distributed tech stack in Singapore, collaborating with teams across regions.

Qualifications

• Strong OO programming skills in Java or C++
• Experience building low-latency, high-throughput distributed systems
• Ability to optimize performance and diagnose complex issues with debugging tools
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and networking concepts
• Experience with real-time data streaming and market data architectures
• Bachelor’s or higher in a STEM field

About The Team

The Exchange Middle Platform team develops the core modules of the exchange, including the matching engine, real-time market data streaming, and market data analysis. It is the backbone of our industry‑leading trading product, used by millions of users. We are seeking highly motivated Java/C++ Engineers to join our cutting‑edge team. In this role, you will design, develop, and optimize our systems, which are critical components of our technology stack. We leverage AI technologies to enhance efficiency and performance, offering a unique opportunity for individuals who are eager to learn and grow in a fast‑paced, innovative environment. Candidates with prior experience in large internet companies will excel in this role, as they will bring valuable insights into building and maintaining high‑performance, distributed systems.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design and implement innovative solutions for our full range of trading products including spot, future, perpetual swap and options.
• Build out real‑time market data gateway.
• Performance optimization for overall trading architecture aiming for low latency, high availability and scalability.

What We Look For In You

• Expertise in Java or C++, with a solid understanding of object‑oriented programming, concurrency, and system‑level programming.
• Proven ability to develop and optimize low‑latency, high‑throughput and high‑availability systems.
• Expertise in performance tuning, memory management, and concurrency optimization.
• Proficient in diagnosing and resolving complex system issues using tools such as profilers, debuggers, and log analyzers.
• Ability to perform low‑level debugging, including assembly language debugging when needed.
• Solid STEM (Science/Technology/Engineering/Mathematics) education background.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, system design, and network protocols

Nice to Haves

• Expertise in Java or C++, with a solid understanding of object‑oriented programming, concurrency, and system‑level programming.
• Experience in large internet companies, with a background in developing and maintaining high‑availability, high‑performance systems, and hands‑on experience in supporting large‑scale peak traffic scenarios.
• Familiarity with low‑latency systems, real‑time applications, or high‑frequency trading platforms.
• Knowledge of message‑oriented middleware, or asynchronous programming paradigms.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, such as CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), or cloud platforms.
• Bilingualism is highly preferred (Mandarin and English) as the team will be working with stakeholders in different regions.
• Experience with AI technologies to improve efficiency.
