Senior Staff Design Automation Engineer (EDA)

Job Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and maintain EDA automation scripts to improve efficiency of design and verification processes
2. Collaborate with design and verification teams to understand their needs and create custom solutions
3. Unify and integrate EDA tools and flows, supporting various methodologies across different user bases
4. Optimize existing EDA workflows to reduce runtime and improve resource utilization
5. Develop and implement tapeout automation frameworks to ensure timely execution of the tapeout process with zero errors or defects
6. Automate and support QA checks for all design databases at the final stage of the tapeout process
7. Provide technical support and training to design teams on the use of EDA tools and automation scripts
8. Stay updated with the latest developments in EDA tools and methodologies and recommend improvements and best practices
9. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to EDA tools and automation flows

Job Requirements:

1. Master's or Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
2. Minimum 12 to 15 years of related experience in the semiconductor industry, focusing on EDA automation
3. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Tcl, and Shell Scripting
4. Understand the IC design flow, including front-end and back-end processes
5. Experience with major EDA tools from vendors such as Cadence, Synopsys, and Mentor Graphics
6. Familiarity with version control systems like Perforce
7. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot tool/flow/license related issues
8. Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
