Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 7 to 10 years of experience in Software Engineering, at least 2 in a leadership capacity.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams.
• Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders and leadership.
• Good communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and persuasively.
• Strong analytical thinking with attention to detail and ability to handle ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Lead AI-Workflow product architecture and technical direction while remaining hands-on across the stack.
• Own end-to-end product delivery across React/TypeScript frontend, Python backend, DAG engine and AWS infra.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to shape the team’s goals and delivery.
• Design architectures for reliability, resilience, scalability and cybersecurity, including safe coding practices.
• Build and operate LLM features in production: model integrations, prompts, latency, and cost management.
• Move fast, ship often, and engage directly with users to address product needs.
• Maintain quality through CI/CD, testing and observability; reduce tech debt.
• Provide mentorship and feedback to engineers; oversee performance and growth.

What you will be working on

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead an AI-Workflow product that allows officers to automate their work without writing code. As the lead, you will set the technical direction while staying hands‑on across the whole tech‑stack including React canvas to python execution engine.

As Senior Software Engineer of GovTech deployed at Enterprise Singapore, you'll:

• Partner with stakeholders and users to prioritise and manage the roadmap towards the product vision and goals
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Designers to shape the team’s technical and delivery goals
• Own the product end to end across the full stack: the React/TypeScript workflow canvas, the Python (FastAPI) backend, the DAG execution engine, and the AWS infrastructure underneath it, managed as code with Terraform
• Design and evolve architectures that meet stringent requirements for reliability, resilience, scalability and cybersecurity, including safely running user‑authored code and high volumes of LLM calls
• Build and operate LLM features in production: model integrations, structured outputs, prompt design, AI‑assisted workflow generation, and managing latency, rate limits and cost
• Work like a startup: move fast, ship often, talk to users directly, and pick up whatever the product needs, whether that is a feature, an incident, an infrastructure change or a user demo
• Balance new feature delivery with technical sustainability, maintainability and risk mitigation
• Bring strong technical judgement, helping engineers navigate design and architecture trade‑offs in line with long‑term goals
• Ensure the team ships high‑quality software predictably and improves over time through CI/CD, automated testing and observability
• Monitor delivery health, reliability and tech debt, and address root causes, not just symptoms
• Meet regularly with engineers to discuss their performance and professional growth, offering constructive feedback, mentoring and guidance

What we are looking for

• Has strong experience building modern full‑stack web applications, e.g. React, TypeScript, JavaScript and CSS on the frontend, and Python (FastAPI or similar) on the backend
• Has hands‑on experience with AWS (e.g. ECS/Fargate, EKS/Kubernetes, RDS/PostgreSQL, S3, IAM) and infrastructure as code with Terraform
• Is comfortable with containers and CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Docker, Helm, GitLab CI)
• Has built LLM‑powered features in production, or is keen to; experience with workflow or orchestration tools (e.g. n8n, Airflow, LangGraph) is a plus
• Must be fluent with AI coding tools such as Claude Code and Codex, and the practices that make them effective: giving agents good context and specs, breaking work into reviewable pieces, and rigorously reviewing and testing AI‑generated code
• Has a startup mindset: biases towards action, is comfortable with ambiguity, iterates quickly with users, and is happy to work across every layer of the product
• Stays close to the technical details, whether through architecture reviews, design docs, code reviews or hands‑on contributions
• Brings clarity, helping the team prioritise, plan and focus in a complex environment
• Understands how software systems and engineering practices scale, and can guide improvements across architecture, testing, observability and infrastructure
• Believes in shared success, and collaborates openly across functions, domains and agencies
• Takes ownership of outcomes, and holds the team to a high standard of quality, security and delivery
