Job summary

Airwallex in Singapore is hiring for our Ecosystem team to design and build the platform that connects developers with the Airwallex API. You will work with backend, product, design, and go-to-market teams to ship secure, scalable extensions and SDKs that power payments and financial workflows.

The role emphasizes architecture, DX, and developer tooling, with a focus on AI-enabled automation and open-banking integrations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in developing Internet applications, large financial systems, or e-commerce platforms.
• Proficient in coding or scripting languages (Java/Kotlin/C++/Python, etc.).
• Deep familiarity with the standard library, idiomatic usage, and best practices of your primary programming languages.
• Ecosystem Experience: Direct experience building or maintaining a public-facing developer platform, app marketplace, or extension framework.

Responsibilities

• Platform Architecture & Strategy: Lead the high-level design and long-term technical roadmap for the App Marketplace or Extension Framework.
• Extensibility Frameworks: Design and implement the core SDKs, webhooks, and UI-extension patterns that allow third-party developers to embed their functionality directly into the Airwallex platform.
• Technical Excellence: Establish and enforce rigorous internal coding standards, observability patterns, and security protocols for the entire team.
• Developer Experience (DX): Champion the needs of external developers by building world-class documentation infrastructure, sandboxes, and tooling.

About the Team

Join our Ecosystem team, a cross‑functional group of engineers and product partners building the platforms and integrations that connect Airwallex with the software our customers rely on every day. We own strategic accounting, marketplace, payment plugins, and open‑banking integrations, as well as the infrastructure that powers our public APIs that enabling third‑party partners to build on top of. You’ll work closely with backend, product, design, and go‑to‑market teams to ship secure, reliable experiences that simplify financial operations for businesses of all sizes and unlock new use cases on top of the Airwallex business account.

What you'll do

As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting‑edge technologies and contribute to the growth and success of our company. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design, develop, and maintain the ecosystem platform, build and integrate APIs to connect with external financial institutions and third‑party platforms (accounting, HR, ERP, marketplace, etc.), and develop scalable solutions to support our ecosystem strategy.

You will also have the chance to work closely with product managers and designers to deliver innovative features and functionalities, as well as contribute to the technical roadmap and provide input on new technologies and best practices.

This role is based in Singapore.
