Job summary

Singtel is seeking a Software Engineer to design and implement scalable solutions for the NewCore platform focusing on BSS domains such as CRM, Product Catalogue, Order Management, and CPQ. You will work hands-on to ensure alignment with Singtel architecture, using platforms like zSmart BSS and zSmart CPQ.

You should be proficient in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and have experience with relational databases, Linux, Git, and modern front-end frameworks.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong programming fundamentals and code quality.
• Experience with enterprise system development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of application modules and core system components.
• Implement microservices-based architectures and ensure modular, reusable services.
• Develop and maintain APIs, services, and integration components.
• Support implementation of BSS capabilities including product modelling, catalogue design, CPQ pricing and configuration rules.
• Handle order decomposition and fulfilment orchestration.
• Produce clear technical documentation and API specifications.

Job description

The Software Engineer is responsible for develop and delivering scalable, high-quality solutions across the NewCore platform, with a focus on BSS domains including CRM, Product Catalogue, Order Management, and CPQ (Configure Price Quote). The role focus on hands‑on development, ensuring implementation aligns with Singtel architecture standards while leveraging industry platforms such as zSmart BSS and zSmart CPQ.

Application Design & Implementation

• Lead design and development of application modules and core system components
• Implement microservices-based architectures and ensure modular, reusable services
• Develop and maintain APIs, services, and integration components
• Support implementation of key BSS capabilities:
• Product modelling and catalogue design
• CPQ pricing and configuration rules
• Order decomposition and fulfilment orchestration

Core Technical & Development Capabilities

• Proficient in at least one mainstream programming language (e.g., Java, Go, Python, TypeScript) with strong programming fundamentals
• Good understanding of coding standards, design patterns, and structured code organisation
• Experience working with relational databases (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL), including basic SQL optimisation
• Familiar with Linux environments and able to perform basic system operations
• Proficient in version control tools (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows
• Able to produce clear technical documentation, including design notes and API specifications
• Specialised Engineering Capabilities (At least one required)
• Back‑end: Strong experience in Spring ecosystem (Spring Boot/Cloud), microservices architecture, and middleware such as messaging and caching
• Front‑end: Proficient in modern frameworks (React, Vue, Angular) with experience in responsive design and performance optimisation

Skill For Success

• Degree in Computer Science or related field
• 2–6 years experience in enterprise system development (BSS/OSS preferred)
• Experience with zSmart BSS, zSmart CPQ, or similar platforms
