About the role:

Portcast has been used by global freight forwarding companies, manufacturers, and cargo airlines. Our goal is to continue earning their trust by scaling our products and delivering new solutions to meet their needs. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will collaborate with our Product team to develop new products, scale existing ones, and manage deployments and architecture.

What You'll Do (majority backend):

• Design, build, and maintain APIs, services, and systems; debug production issues across the stack.
• Collaborate with Business, Product, and Data Science teams to solve customer pain points at scale.
• Develop and deploy enterprise-level, high-availability web applications, supported by the design team.
• Create scalable technology infrastructure; improve system architecture.
• Stay updated on latest software development technologies and methodologies.

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• At least 5+ years of experience in designing, developing, and releasing technical solutions.

Other Requirements:

• Strong problem-solving skills, logical thinking, and innovative solution development.
• Understanding of system architecture and building scalable products.
• Experience working in diverse, cross-cultural teams; familiar with agile principles.
• Excellent communication skills; ability to articulate technical ideas clearly.
• Proficiency with Python backend, Flask, AWS; experience with Docker, Git, Elasticsearch, Spark, CI/CD is a plus.
• Experience as an early engineering hire at a startup is a plus.
