The Global Ad Technology Department (GATD) manages the whole of the advertising systems that power Rakuten. We are a cross-functional and data-driven organization working together in a diverse team spread across five countries: Japan, Singapore, India, China and UK. To ensure the high system quality of each services and to increase engineers capability we are trying to seek full-time higher level Senior Software Architect to join our architect team. In this position, the Senior Software Architect on Horizontal Organization which called Tech Management Section. We are looking for an experienced Software Architect to make intuitive high level decisions for software development. You will see the “big picture” and create architectural approaches for software design and implementation to guide the development team under the whole GATD services group.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with stakeholders to define functional and non-functional software requirements.
• Create detailed representations of software functions, UIs, and system interactions using industry-standard tools.
• Develop high-level architectural specifications aligned with business objectives and technical feasibility.
• Define and maintain development standards encompassing technology, workflow, coding, and deployment.
• Communicate architectural vision and technical guidelines to development teams.
• Provide technical oversight and guidance to development teams, ensuring adherence to standards.
• Conduct architecture reviews and provide technical support to engineers.
• Ensure software meets quality attributes: security, maintainability, scalability, and performance.
• Oversee final review and approval of software before launch.
• Design and implement secure, scalable, and cost-effective Hybrid cloud solutions.

Mandatory Qualifications:

• At least 8 years of experience in software development including solution or technical architecture experience
• Strong knowledge in public cloud , preferably GCG with experience in GCP networking and security
• Experience in software development and coding in various languages, specifically to Java coding language.
• Excellent knowledge of software and application design and architecture
• Excellent knowledge of UML and other modelling methods
• Excellent knowledge of API design and implementation
• Understanding of software quality assurance principles
• A technical mindset with great attention to detail
• High quality organizational and leadership skills
• Outstanding communication and presentation abilities
• Strong analytical and quantitative problem solving ability
• Proactive self-starter with self-motivated mind
• Strong get-things-done mind with a sense of ownership

Desired Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge of digital marketing or advertising technologies - Ad serving, Ad tracking, DSP, SSP, DMP, Campaign Management, etc
• Experience with big data solutions and data pip-line and processing - Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Kafka, etc
• Understanding Micro service architecture concepts and containerized applications
• Familiarity with HTML/CSS, JavaScript and UI/UX design
• Hybrid Cloud Architecture experience
• Experience in GCP Managed service like DataProc, Bigquery, Data Lake, GCS, DataStream etc
