Job summary

Rakuten Asia Pte. Ltd. in Singapore is seeking a Senior Site Reliability (DevOps) Engineer to drive operational excellence across observability, incident management, and automation.

You will partner with Architecture and Platform teams to ensure scalable, fault-tolerant infrastructure supporting Rakuten's global services. You will lead SRE practices, embed reliability into the software lifecycle, and guide on-call rotations, post-mortems, and deployment strategies.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years in software engineering, DevOps, or SRE with leadership experience.
• Proven track record leading SRE or platform teams across time zones.
• Strong expertise in cloud platforms (GCP preferred, AWS/Azure acceptable).
• Solid automation, observability, and incident management skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive SRE strategy with SLO/SLI frameworks and reliability targets.
• Establish incident management processes including on-call rotations and post-mortems.
• Embed reliability practices in the software development lifecycle.
• Design and implement observability solutions (monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting).
• Drive automation to reduce toil and enable self-service for teams.
• Partner with Architecture and Platform teams for scalable, cost-aware infra.
• Manage capacity planning for high-volume marketing platforms and real-time personalization.
• Report reliability metrics and incidents trends to leadership with business impact.
