Job summary

A leading construction consultancy in Singapore is seeking an experienced Senior Site Quantity Surveyor to manage contract administration and procurement, oversee progress claims, and mentor junior staff. The ideal candidate has at least 15 years of experience in quantity surveying and has led large projects. This position offers a salary range of $4500 to $6300.

Job description

Senior Site Quantity Surveyor

  • Working Days: 5 days a week (Monday – Friday). Saturday work may be required depending on the project (OT claims applicable).
  • Working Hours: 8:30 am - 5:30 pm.
  • Office location at City Hall; project site at nearby locations, nearest MRT Kent Ridge (Circle Line).
  • Salary Range: $4,500 to $6,300.

Requirements:

  • Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying with experience in new built projects.
  • Minimum 15 years of QS experience, preferably with experience managing two large projects.
  • Ability to handle the full QS scope until final account settlement.

Job Scope:

  • Contract administration: attending to contract matters with clients, consultants, and subcontractors, ensuring site staff are aware of contractual obligations.
  • Procurement: sourcing subcontractors and suppliers, obtaining quotations, conducting cost comparisons, and requesting POs to optimize project costs.
  • Progress claims & payments: preparing and submitting progress claims, assessing subcontractors’ claims, and preparing payment vouchers to ensure adequate project cash flow.
  • Monitoring and updating monthly cost reports for management, including project expenses and financial status.
  • Variation order (VO) claims: identifying variation works and submitting claims.
  • Reviewing architect instructions for time and cost implications and reporting to project management.
  • Assisting with site coordination, arranging meetings with subcontractors and suppliers as needed.
  • Attending project and technical meetings, advising on cost queries to ensure smooth project progress.
  • Performing accurate measurements and quantity take-offs for claims and payments.
  • Preparing relevant documents for monthly progress reports, including cash flow, subcontractor lists, AI lists, VO lists, etc.
  • Calculating final project costs and advising on final account settlements with clients and subcontractors.
  • Managing and mentoring junior staff.
