Job summary

A chemical processing company in Singapore is seeking a DCS Operator to manage plant operations, monitor control systems, and ensure proper chemical processing. The ideal candidate will have a diploma in Chemical Engineering and at least 3 years of experience in a similar environment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced, rotating shift environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Control process parameters for plant start up, normal operation and plant shutdown.
• Monitor DCS for alarms and respond to deviations.
• Coordinate instructions given to shift technicians.

Job description

Main Duties & Responsibilities :

1.Sound good chemical plant DCS operation knowledge to control process parameters for plant start up, normal operation and plant shutdown.

2. Apply chemical plant operation knowledge to follow documented procedures (e.g. Standard operating procedure-SOP, EHS regulations, risk assessment).

3.Closely monitor DCS (Distributed control system) for alarms, analyze the deviation and respond according to documented process adjustment steps.

4. Given instruction to shift technician in the field, to ensure close coordination and clear communication between DCS action and field action, to prevent mis-operation.

5. To demonstrate strong ownership, team spirit, challenge and sincerity.

Requirements:

1. Diploma or Nitec in Chemical engineering or equivalent.

2. At least 3 years work experience as DCS operator in a chemical processing environment. Experience in polymerization and/or extrusion is advantageous.

3. Possess basic Knowledge of chemical processing and equipment, with working knowledge of ISO14001, ISO9001/IATF16949, ISO45001, SS651.

4. Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

5. Able to work rotating shift pattern in a fast-paced environment.
