Job Description

This is what we need you to do… The Senior Sensor Electronics Engineer is part of the China Hardware Electronics. He/she will be working with engineers on multiple R&D projects to develop various sensing systems/technologies using off-the-shelve sensor parts/modules.

The role responsibilities will cover the following areas:

  • Develop cost-effective sensing technologies to use for a given problem.

  • Design, build, test and analyse the sensing systems.

  • Develop and tune the sensing algorithms as part of the product feature development.

  • Actively collaborate with other function teams (electronic, mechanical, embedded SW, test team, etc) for the full sensing systems integration and to ensure product and system requirements are fully met.

  • Taking designs from early proof of concept through development and into production.

  • Liaise with external suppliers and third parties on Dyson's product requirements, ensuring smooth communication throughout the partnership.

In your first year you will…

  • Be challenged to solve complex problems in novel ways.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop and integrate creative solution into Dyson products.

  • Work with product owners to capture requirements and select appropriate sensing and actuating technologies.

  • Take designs through Dyson design process, present and participate in design review.

  • Motivate and mentor graduate and regular engineers on your team.

This is what we need you to have…

  • A degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. Electronics Engineering, Physics)

  • At least 2-3 years of experience working in design, implementation, testing, analysis and characterization of off-the-shelve sensors such as (but not limited to) IMU, magnetic, pressure, hall-effect, photo optic, thermal sensor etc

  • Experience in camera and ISP tuning is advantageous.

  • Experience with quantitative and statistical data analysis using Matlab or Python for sensing algorithm development.

  • Experience with analogue signal conditioning and digital processing design techniques.
