Job summary

Singapore Food Agency in Singapore is hiring a Scientist / Senior Scientist in the National Centre for Food Science. The role focuses on analytics and epidemiology to strengthen food safety surveillance.

You will build automated data pipelines, develop ML models, and work with internal and external teams to monitor and assess risks related to foodborne threats. Strong data skills and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in data analytics, statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology or related field
• Experience with data analysis software and visualization tools
• Ability to manage large datasets and maintain data integrity
• Prior experience in epidemiological study design is a plus
• Strong analytical skills and ability to learn new tools
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain automated data pipelines for AI-driven food monitoring systems
• Develop and optimize statistical and machine learning models
• Implement analytics techniques and document data pipelines/workflows
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance food safety surveillance
• Communicate findings to diverse audiences through reports and presentations
• Conduct administrative tasks such as procurement and project agreements
