Job summary

Nucleic Acid Therapeutics Initiative (NATi) at A*STAR seeks a highly skilled Computational Scientist to develop computational pipelines and predictive drug property models for ASOs, siRNAs and mRNAs across multiple therapeutic applications.

You will establish and scale bioinformatics and AI/ML capabilities to accelerate oligonucleotide design and translational efforts, work with cross-functional teams, translate computational insights into experimentally validated candidates, and contribute to

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry, Biophysics, Bioinformatics, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
• 4+ years (Scientist) or 8+ years (Senior Scientist) in computational oligonucleotide design or RNA therapeutics.
• Experience with Python/R, ML for biological data, and reproducible research practices.
• Proficiency in RNA structure prediction tools and sequence analysis.
• Knowledge of nucleotide modification strategies and experimental translation.

Responsibilities

• Drive RNA therapeutic design and computational optimisation across ASOs, siRNAs, and mRNAs.
• Develop automated data processing and visualization pipelines for drug-property analyses.
• Apply AI/ML frameworks to explore chemical space and predict properties like efficacy and toxicity.
• Analyze large biological datasets to inform oligonucleotide design and modification strategies.
• Collaborate with chemists, biologists, and pharmacologists to translate predictions into candidates.
