Job summary

A*STAR - Agency for Science, Technology and Research is seeking a Senior Scientist to contribute to the characterisation and profiling of bioactive compound libraries, and apply them in high-throughput phenotypic screening using relevant cell models.

You will support the development and optimisation of screening workflows, perform cellular characterisation of phenotypes, interpret data, validate candidates, and help establish robust, reproducible workflows for bioactive discovery.

Qualifications

• PhD in Food Science, Cell Biology, Nutrition or related disciplines.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant research experience in nutraceuticals, bioactive compounds, food science or related areas.
• Demonstrated expertise in the characterisation and profiling of bioactive compounds, including proteins and peptides.
• Strong scientific and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently design experiments, interpret complex datasets and identify promising bioactive candidates.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead research activities and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, prioritise tasks and deliver project milestones within defined timelines.

Responsibilities

• Characterisation and profiling of bioactive compounds.
• Develop and optimise screening workflows and high-throughput phenotypic screening.
• Cellular characterisation of relevant phenotypes to identify promising hits.
• Data interpretation, evaluation of screening outcomes and validation of selected candidates.
