Qualifications

• Law degree is required or strongly preferred.
• Professional certification in sanctions, AML, or compliance is advantageous.
• Extensive experience in sanctions law across commodities, energy, or trading.
• Experience with risk assessments, audits, or self-audits.
• Experience advising on transaction-level sanctions risks.
• Experience with Asian, US and European sanctions is preferred.
• Knowledge of Singapore regulatory expectations is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Conduct sanctions risk assessments and self-audits across Group operations.
• Act as primary sanctions focal point for GSPL during Singapore hours.
• Oversee vessel screening during Singapore hours, including escalation and QA.
• Manage KYC sanctions escalations and counterparty due diligence queries.
• Advise traders, M&A, trade finance and business development teams on sanctions issues.
• Deliver face-to-face sanctions compliance training for new staff.
• Coordinate internal communications on Asia sanctions developments.
• Monitor sanctions developments in China and APAC and coordinate with Geneva team.
• Support implementation, testing and improvement of sanctions controls.
• Maintain records of advice, escalations, screening decisions and risk outcomes.
• Escalate high-risk matters to the Geneva core sanctions team.
• Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
