Job summary

Lumilens is seeking a Production/Materials Planner to coordinate customer orders between the sales team and CM/OSAT partners. The role requires hands-on planning experience to track and expedite material flow into CM, ensuring commitments stay on track.

The ideal candidate will manage POs, track production status, and communicate risks to customers and the sales team, helping optimize revenue and delivery reliability in a fast-paced photonics startup environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Business or related field.
• Hands-on production/materials planning experience in semiconductor/electronics manufacturing.
• Experience with OSAT/CM operations and coordinating with suppliers.
• Strong cross-functional communication across sales, CM/OSAT, and internal ops.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the operational link between sales/account teams and CM/OSAT, translating orders and forecasts into manufacturing follow-up.
• Follow up on open POs for equipment and materials shipped to the CM to anticipate delays and protect commitments.
• Interface with CM/OSAT operations teams to track production status, WIP, and shipment readiness.
• Manage customer expectations and keep sales informed of CM-side risks to dates.
• Consolidate customer demand/forecast with CM/OSAT capacity and material status for quarterly revenue planning.
• Identify and escalate capacity, material, or equipment risks and coordinate recovery actions.
• Maintain accurate order, shipment, and production status records across systems.
• Support revenue recognition by triggering invoicing with Finance once product docks.

About the Role

This role manages the operational execution of customer orders by acting as the interface between the sales/customer-facing team and the company's contract manufacturer (CM) and OSAT partners. It requires hands-on production/materials planning experience, because the role is directly responsible for tracking and expediting equipment and material flow into the CM to keep customer commitments on track - not just relaying status between sides.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the operational link between sales/customer account teams and the CM/OSAT, translating customer orders and forecasts into actionable follow-up on the manufacturing side
• Follow up on open POs for equipment and materials shipped to the CM, using planning experience to anticipate and resolve delays before they affect customer commits
• Interface directly with CM/OSAT operations teams (not just sales contacts) to track production status, WIP, and shipment readiness
• Manage customer expectations and satisfaction across post-sales activities, keeping the sales team informed of any CM-side risks to committed dates
• Consolidate customer demand/forecast information with CM/OSAT capacity and material status to support quarterly revenue and customer commits
• Identify and elevate capacity, material, or equipment risks at the CM, coordinating recovery actions cross-functionally
• Maintain accurate order, shipment, and production status records across sales operations and planning systems
• Support revenue recognition by triggering invoicing with Finance once product is docked at the customer, ensuring shipment and delivery evidence is complete and accurate

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Operations, Supply Chain, Business, or related field
• Prior experience as a production/materials planner in a semiconductor or electronics manufacturing environment is essential - specifically hands-on experience working with OSAT/CM operations, not just customer/sales-side order management
• Demonstrated ability to operate on both sides of the interface: understanding customer commitments and translating them into internal production/logistics follow-up at the CM
• Strong cross-functional communication skills across sales, CM/OSAT, and internal operations
• ERP/planning system proficiency
