Job Description

Job Title: Associate Consultant- PICU

Reporting To: HOD

Purpose: To assist the Pediatric Department in delivering high-quality intensive care in the hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Interface effectively with patients, attendants, and physicians to provide compassionate, high-quality intensive care.
  • Handle critically sick pediatric patients requiring tertiary care, including ventilation, central line placement, and organ dysfunction management.
  • Participate in academic activities, CMEs, and research to improve PICU standards.
  • Improve PICU functioning through teaching and supervision of nursing staff, residents, and other staff.
  • Ensure timely admission, record management, and discharge procedures.
  • Engage in quality improvement programs and follow infection control policies.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines for effective care and ensure proper stock and equipment management.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, including QMS, EMS, disaster management, and safety policies.

  • Mortality rate below PICU norms
  • Fast patient turnover in PICU
