Job description

A postdoctoral scientist position is available immediately in the laboratory of Dr. Leslie Beh at IMCB.

The Beh lab seeks to develop cutting-edge CRISPR-Cas technologies to uncover the biological functions of RNA modifications. Dysregulation of these modifications has been linked to cancer, neurological disorders, and metabolic disease. We will determine the mechanisms by which RNA modifications and CRISPR-Cas systems operate by drawing upon diverse techniques, including protein engineering, biochemical reconstitution, genomics, and cell-based experiments. Successful applicants can expect close mentorship in a collaborative environment, with an emphasis on developing scientific knowledge and individual career goals. More information can be found at the Beh lab website.

Requirements:

  1. Ph.D. in Life Sciences / Biomedical Sciences
  2. Experience in biochemistry and/or structural biology, particularly in protein-RNA or protein-DNA interactions.
  3. in vitro reconstitution of enzymatic activity using cell extracts or purified proteins
  4. Recombinant protein purification from bacterial and insect cells
  5. Genuine interest in pursuing a research-based career.
  6. Strong work ethic, with excellent organizational and communication skills

Preferred experience:

  1. Mammalian cell culture
  2. NGS library generation and data analysis
  3. Prior roles in lab management

The above eligibility criteria are not exhaustive. A*STAR may include additional selection criteria based on its prevailing recruitment policies. These policies may be amended from time to time without notice. We regret that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
