Job description

Join Us In Building the Future of Precision Health!

Lucence is a precision health company accelerating early detection of cancer and age-related diseases. We help people live longer, healthier lives through advanced testing that identifies risks before symptoms appear. Operating from twin hubs in Singapore and Silicon Valley, our multidisciplinary team spans tech, commercial, and clinical roles.

Join us to build a world where cancer and diseases of ageing are caught early and treated accurately. Together, we are making this future a reality.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will lead the development and optimisation of molecular diagnostic assays, from experimental design and troubleshooting to analytical and clinical validation. You will also analyse genomic data, maintain assay protocols, and publish scientific findings. This is a hands-on scientific role: you take an assay from development through validation and work closely with clinical operations to ensure successful implementation in the laboratory.

Your responsibilities includes but not limited to:

  • Propose, design, plan, execute, and interpret laboratory experiments to implement new molecular assays and improve current assays.

  • Design, plan, and lead studies for analytical and clinical verification and validation.

  • Author, review, and maintain internal workflows and protocols of validated molecular diagnostics assays.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges during assay development.

  • Analyse genomic data and publish/present work in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences.

  • Train staff and facilitate assay transfer from R&D to clinical operations.

Requirements

  • A PhD in Molecular Biology, Cancer Biology, Genomics, or related field.

  • A deep understanding and knowledge of oncology and/or genomics.

  • Strong background in molecular biology, including PCR, RT-PCR, genotyping and NGS.

  • At least 2 years of working experience in the development of molecular assays, with significant hands-on expertise in troubleshooting, implementing, and optimising assays.

  • Strong self-motivation, resilience, adaptability, and a keen interest in learning.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

WHAT WE HAVE TO OFFER

  • Meaningful Mission: Being at the forefront of the fight against cancer!

  • Global Exposure & Mobility: Collaborate with world-class talent across Asia and the US.

  • Continuous Learning: Dedicated budget for professional development and training.

  • Work-Life Balance: Generous annual leave and parent-care leave to support your well-being.

  • Dynamic Culture: A fast-paced, inclusive, and highly collaborative environment where ideas become reality
