Job Description

NUS Centre for Hydrogen Innovations invites application for a Senior / Research Fellow position in the field of experimental ammonia cracking and combustion studies, targeting gas turbine combustion application. This role will be part of a dynamic research team focusing on advancing clean energy technologies and sustainable fuel applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct experimental research on ammonia cracking and combustion processes.

  2. Develop and optimize experimental setups for fundamental and applied studies.

  3. Perform thermochemical and kinetic analysis related to ammonia-based fuels.

  4. Design and execute combustion diagnostics and emissions measurements.

  5. Analyze experimental data and develop predictive models.

  6. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including researchers and industry partners.

  7. Publish findings in high-impact journals and present at conferences.

  8. Assist in mentoring graduate students and junior researchers.

Qualifications
  1. A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Energy Science, or a related field.

  2. Proven expertise in experimental combustion research, preferably in ammonia or hydrogen-based fuels.

  3. Hands-on experience with high-temperature reactors, optical diagnostics, laser-based measurements, or gas analysis techniques.

  4. Strong background in combustion kinetics, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics.

  5. Experience in data acquisition, signal processing, and computational tools.

  6. Demonstrated ability to publish in peer-reviewed journals.

  7. Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  8. Experience in project management and industry collaboration (for Senior Research Fellow applicants).
