Job summary

A*STAR RESEARCH ENTITIES is seeking a Research Engineer to drive materials development, thermal and chemical conversion, and sustainable feedstock utilization in Singapore. You will conduct hands-on experiments, operate lab reactors, develop processes, and analyze data with AI assistance to translate technology for industry impact.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, ensure experimental quality, maintain safety, and deliver milestones with clear documentation and regular progress

Qualifications

• Diploma, BSc or MSc in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science & Engineering, or related discipline.
• Hands‑on experimental experience in reaction engineering, catalysis, thermal conversion or process development preferred.
• Experience with lab reactors and analytical methods is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Strong planning, data handling and documentation skills; safety and quality focused.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute experimental programmes for polymer conversion by pyrolysis to produce light olefins.
• Prepare, test, and evaluate catalysts, materials, feedstocks and reaction systems.
• Support operation and maintenance of lab-scale reactor systems and equipment.
• Analyze product distributions, conversion, selectivity and data quality with traceable records.
• Deliver reproducible technical results and provide progress updates for discussions.
