Senior Research Engineer I, Technology Centre for Offshore and Marine, Singapore.

Job Summary

Perform research in the following areas and contribute to integrated physical‑numerical modelling and simulations.

• Global performance analysis
• Global structural response analysis
• Assist in conducting physical model tests, field experiments and numerical simulations to support the development of integrated physical‑numerical modelling and simulations
• Collaborate with industry partners, affiliated research institutes and other relevant stakeholders to contribute to grant proposals for research funding consistent with the strategic goals of TCOMS
• Any other duties as assigned by supervisor

Job Requirements

Qualification & Field of Study:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree from reputable universities in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Applied Mathematics or other related disciplines

Work Experience:

• Preferably having relevant research/industry experience with competent knowledge in offshore engineering, marine engineering, hydrodynamics, naval architecture, and ocean engineering
• Prior knowledge in the following numerical methods/software/programming languages will be an advantage: CAD software such as SolidWorks, Rhino, AutoCAD; Engineering tools such as WAMIT, SESAM and OrcaFlex; Finite Element analysis tools such as SESAM, ABAQUS, Ansys; Programming codes such as FORTRAN, Python, MATLAB, C++ or equivalent
