Job summary

Duke-NUS Medical School's CARE unit seeks a Research Assistant (Senior) to support the SEJAHTERA project, working with Malay Muslim residents in Mei Ling and Queenstown. The role entails deep community engagement and collaborative research activities.

You will coordinate fieldwork, conduct ethnographic interviews, assist with transcription and data management, and help prepare materials for dissemination to academic, community and policy audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Public Health or related field; Master’s with 2+ years preferred.
• Fluency in English and Malay required.
• Experience with community-based research is valued.

Responsibilities

• Build rapport with Malay Muslim residents in Mei Ling/Queenstown through door-knocking and community presence.
• Recruit and screen eligible residents for surveys, interviews, FGDs and co-design workshops.
• Communicate study purpose clearly; obtain informed consent and maintain participant trust.
