A business information service is looking for a sharp, well-connected Senior Reporter to join their specialist team, covering distressed debt and event-driven opportunities in China and Hong Kong.

You’ll be reporting on the complex, fast-moving credit landscape across the region—where business, politics, and family ties often matter as much as the balance sheet. We’re after someone who not only understands the numbers but can spot the real story behind them.

This role suits someone with solid experience in credit markets—either as a financial journalist or from the buyside or sellside—with strong sourcing skills and a deep understanding of how things really work on the ground in China.

What you’ll be doing:

Breaking exclusive news on corporate events such as M&A, restructurings, financings, and regulatory developments Publishing smart, clear analysis on credit trends and market moves Building and maintaining a strong network of onshore and offshore sources Collaborating closely with a global team of journalists and analysts Attending industry events and maintaining a visible presence in the market What we’re looking for:

Excellent knowledge of China’s credit market (bonds and loans) Strong sourcing network across banks, asset managers, corporates, advisers and regulators Experience in the loan market (origination, trading, restructuring, etc.) Fluency in Mandarin and English, with clear, confident writing skills At least 5 years’ experience in financial journalism or finance, with writing/reporting responsibilities Strong teamwork and time management skills Eligibility to work in Hong Kong or Singapore (PR or Citizen preferred) If you have the curiosity, contacts and drive to deliver original, market-moving reporting on one of the world’s most dynamic markets, we’d love to hear from you.
