Qualifications

Job description

The Radiographer will perform the range of diagnostic imaging modalities, which the hospital is providing, with high level of service quality, patient care, efficiency and productivity.

Responsibilities

1. Perform all diagnostic imaging services according to standards described in SOP.

2. Ensure examination is performed on the correct patient and observes radiation safety rules and respective procedural consents described in SOP.

3. Ensure the quality of the film is optimal, it is correctly labeled, and the examination requested has been completed before sending for reporting or providing as wet-film to the patient.

4. Ensure that the examination code entered into the system corresponds to the examination requested.

5. Explain the examination to the patient, what he/she will be undergoing, and the estimated duration of it.

6. Ensure patients’ safety, physical and emotional well-being is taken care of during and after the examination.

7. Ensure that precautions have been taken to protect patients, staff, and the public from unnecessary exposure to ionizing radiation.

8. Perform on-call and after-hours duties when necessary, ensuring prompt response which is in line with the prescribed standard of the Hospital.

9. Perform daily QA procedures on equipment according to manufacturers’ recommendations to ensure optimal performance of these equipment.

10. Perform any other duties as instructed by the Manager.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor in Applied Science (Radiography) or Diploma in Radiography from recognized institutions.

2. Registered with Allied Health Professions Council.

3. Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in Singapore as a Radiographer in a diagnostic imaging facility.

4. Experience in sub-specialties preferred, such as CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and Mammography.

5. Those with previous experience in managing Modality areas will be considered for a senior position.

6. Good customer service, telephone, and public relations skills.

7. Proficient in MS Office applications – Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

8. Good command of spoken and written English, and a second language.

9. Working knowledge of PACS system.

10. 5.5 day work week and required to perform on-call duties.
