Job description

We are looking for a seasoned and strategic Senior Quantity Surveyor to take the lead in our commercial interior design projects. If you excel in a fast-paced, design-driven environment and have a keen ability to optimize costs without compromising on quality, this role is for you. Beyond managing budgets and tenders, you will drive high-level cost strategies, mentor junior team members, and work closely with designers, project managers, and contractors to bring ambitious design visions to life—on time and within budget. If you thrive on problem-solving, negotiating the best deals, and making every dollar count, we’d love to have you as a key part of our leadership team!

Responsibilities:
  1. Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and procurement plans for commercial interior projects (up to ~20,000 sqft), ensuring financial efficiency and project feasibility.
  2. Oversee material take-offs and the preparation of bills of quantities (BOQ).
  3. Evaluate, negotiate, and finalize contracts with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to achieve optimal cost and quality outcomes.
  4. Manage and track project expenditures, progress claims, and variations, proactively identifying and addressing cost-related risks.
  5. Collaborate closely with project managers, designers, and contractors to ensure budgets align with design specifications while maintaining project profitability.
  6. Review and assess contract terms, manage progress payments, and oversee final account settlements with subcontractors and clients.
  7. Conduct site visits and audits to verify work progress, ensure compliance with contractual agreements, and mitigate potential disputes.
  8. Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering solutions to enhance project efficiency without compromising quality.
  9. Ensure full compliance with Singapore’s building codes, contracts, and procurement regulations, providing expert advice on regulatory requirements.
  10. Mentor and guide junior quantity surveyors, fostering a culture of excellence in cost management and contract administration.
