Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Carry out pretender activities involved in the tendering process, such as sourcing quotations, liaising with suppliers and subcontractors, conducting quantity take-offs, and preparing Bill of Quantities for pricing.
- Attend tender briefing, site show rounds, tender interviews, and follow up with post-tender clarification and questionnaires when required.
- Carry out detailed breakdown pricing and understand tenders with respect to scope of work, pricing schedules, and non-material requirements.
- Respond to client queries regarding submitted tenders.
- Attend onsite and consultants' meetings, liaise with clients, architects, and associate consultants in project administration.
- Liaise with various related parties including customers and subcontractors on site to ensure project requirements are met.
- Coordinate with government agencies and prepare documentation for submission, including method statements, risk assessments, and safe work procedures.
- Liaise, coordinate, and supervise workers and subcontractors at the site.
- Handle technical and engineering problems, ensuring smooth implementation and monitoring of work at the site.
- Gather, check site data, and record and monitor site work progress and productivity.
- Propose alternative work methods or other ways to increase productivity.
- Ensure all workers comply with quality, environment, health, and safety requirements.
- Ensure all relevant permits are applied for before work commences, conduct toolbox talks and risk assessments before work starts.
- Settle disputes and address clarifications on site.
- Perform other ad-hoc QS duties assigned by the Tender Manager or Project Manager.
- Provide guidance to Junior QS / QS team members.
Job requirements:
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Engineering (Civil) or equivalent.
- Strong foundation in A&A works, including structural, architectural, and M&E works in Singapore.
- At least 8 to 10 years of relevant working experience in Singapore.
- Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
- Hardworking and willing to learn.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
