Job description

Quantitative Developer

Responsibilities:

  1. Design and deploy robust ETL pipelines for fundamental research and reference data.
  2. Ensure data lineage, quality, and timelines across critical research/reporting workflows.
  3. Maintain SQL databases and ingested datasets.
  4. Build and maintain scalable data infrastructure to automate research tasks/reports, including but not limited to in-house Python packages, web applications, MSSQL functions/stored procedures.

Requirements:

  1. Strong Python development skills, especially in data engineering or quantitative development contexts, including:
  • Market data APIs and web scraping.
  • Time series modeling and visualization (pandas, statsmodels, plotly, folium, etc.).
  • Building reusable Python models to streamline workflows (SMTP, pyodbc, etc.).
  • Prior experience working on a commodities trading desk or with US Natural Gas trading.
  • Strong SQL experience, including data modeling, complex queries, performance tuning, stored procedures, functions, and index management.
  • Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with ETL orchestrators like Visual Cron, Jenkins, and Airflow.
  • Familiarity with Git, Azure DevOps, Snowflake.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across multiple US offices with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience handling multi-dimensional datasets (weather, satellite signals, commodity flows).
  • Knowledge of machine learning frameworks (scikit-learn, xgboost, etc.).
  • Experience in optimizing cloud costs and large-scale data storage for operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
