Job summary

Singtel is hiring a Senior Quality Engineer to lead quality engineering across projects, driving test strategy, automation, and governance. You will embed quality early in the SDLC, design robust test solutions, and oversee automation adoption within CI/CD pipelines.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve observability, report KPIs, and strengthen testing across web, API, and mobile platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in software testing, including experience in test management.
• Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Experience in test automation is a plus.
• ISTQB certification is beneficial.

How You Will Make An Impact

Senior Quality Engineer plays the Test Lead role and is responsible for driving project-wide quality engineering practices, embedding quality early in software development lifecycle, and leading test strategy, planning, automation, execution, reporting and governance initiatives.

This role defines quality frameworks, develops test solutions across platforms, and integrates robust quality gates within CI/CD pipelines, while fostering cross-functional collaboration and observability through test analytics.

Test Automation Strategy And Implementation

• Design, develop, and maintain sophisticated and scalable test automation frameworks, test suites, and solutions for web, API, and mobile applications.
• Provide architectural guidance and best practices for test automation.
• Lead the adoption of automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Playwright, RestAssured, Appium) within teams and potentially across multiple projects or the organization.
• Integrate automation seamlessly into the development lifecycle.
• Implement, optimize, and oversee CI/CD pipelines with well-defined and automated quality gates.
• Integrate various test types (unit, integration, E2E, non-functional) into the CI/CD process.
• Monitor pipeline effectiveness and provide actionable feedback and insights to development teams.
• Contribute to the evolution and standardization of CI/CD processes.

Strategic Test Planning And Execution

• Define and lead the development and execution of comprehensive test strategies for projects and programs.
• Determine test scope, methodologies, resource estimation, and risk mitigation strategies.
• Effectively apply mocking and contract testing techniques.
• Implement advanced test automation techniques and testing methodologies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional parties to execute testing.

Test Analytics And Reporting

• Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure process efficiency and effectiveness.
• Leverage test data and metrics to provide insightful reports and identify areas for improvement.
• Enhance observability through test analytics at the project, program, and potentially organizational levels.
• Report on the progress and effectiveness of automation and testing efforts.

Skills For Success

Technical Proficiency

• Expertise in Test Automation: Proven ability to design, develop, and maintain complex and scalable test automation frameworks for web, API, and mobile applications using relevant tools (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, RestAssured, Appium).
• Deep Understanding of CI/CD: Comprehensive knowledge of CI/CD principles, tools, and the integration of automated testing within pipelines (e.g., Bamboo, Azure DevOps).
• Knowledge of Testing Methodologies: Solid understanding of various testing methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) and test design techniques.
• Experience with Performance Testing: Hands-on with performance test Execution (Jmeter, NeoLoad) and respective toolset.
• API Testing Skills: Proven ability to test APIs effectively using relevant tools and protocols.
• Scripting and Programming Skills: Proficiency in one or more scripting or programming languages relevant to test automation (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript).
• Experience with Test Management Tools: Familiarity with tools like Jira with Qmetry, or similar.
