Job Summary

The Senior QA/QC Engineer will assist the QA/QC department to support the Piping Fabrication and erection, Equipment and Structural Installation, Insulation and Painting Inspection onsite and offsite. Is added advantage if proven experience in electrical, instrumentation, control & automation systems installation.

This individual should have a proven track record with excellent communication and computer skills and possess experience in large scale mechanical equipment installation experience.

Job Description

  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical submittals to ensure alignment with project requirements.

  • Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate piping and Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control & Automation (MEICA) systems seamlessly into existing building design, ensuring compatibility and optimal operation.

  • Monitors and ensure all MEICA works are carried out according to the latest revision mechanical drawing and complies with contract specification and quality management system.

  • Arranges coordinate and carry out all the inspection with customer representative and / or ITA as per the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).

  • Performs material equipment incoming are as per Vendor document.

  • Verifies NDT are done as per approved NDT plan & procedures.

  • Verifies preservation are being performed as per preservation plan & procedures.

  • Checks and endorse inspection record prior to issue to customers

  • Reports any non-conformance (NC) and issue corrective action request (CAR), where necessary.

  • Able to prepare Piping / Equipment / Electrical / Instrument Test packs, perform Line Walk and issuance punch list

  • Verifies mechanical MDR is as per construction prior to release the product released for onsite erection.

  • Collaborate closely with the client / stakeholders, addressing technical inquiries and ensuring Piping and MEICA systems align with their installation requirements.

  • Ensure strict safety protocols and industry regulations on the construction site.

  • Experience in Boiler Installation & Steam Piping to comply MOM guidelines

  • Familiar with PED / BS EN ISO codes to comply project requirements

  • Provide regular project updates, technical reports to the QA/QC Manager.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the planning and construction of major process industry / industrial / infrastructure projects.

  • Proven track record in large scale projects, coordinating internal / external stakeholders – HSE, QA, Subcontractors, Suppliers, Client, Authorities.

  • Mandatory to have CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector and NDT level 2 certified.

  • Ability to identify and address construction challenges and issues promptly.

  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.

  • Knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance requirements related to construction.

  • Flexibility to adapt to changing project needs and work in a fast-paced construction environment.

  • Good knowledge of large scale MEICA equipment and systems.

  • Excellent coordination skills and communication skills in English, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to work with a diverse team.

  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible/adapt to rapidly changing project requirements/timelines.

  • Meticulous and analytical with excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Able to work under tight deadlines.

  • Highly motivated and ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Will be required to work full time on project site.
