Job summary

A*STAR RESEARCH ENTITIES is seeking a skilled PhD-level researcher to develop and optimize PVD processes for SiC MOSFET and MEMS applications in a fast-paced R&D environment.

Responsibilities include thin film property characterization, process troubleshooting, and implementing yield improvement strategies while collaborating with integration teams and fab operations. Strong communication with stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• PhD in Materials Science and Engineering or related field.
• At least 5 years direct research or industry experience in PVD module development preferred.
• Strong understanding of thin film deposition techniques and yield improvement.
• Experience with thin film characterization tools (SEM/TEM, EDX, SIMS, FTIR, XPS).
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Eligibility criteria may include additional requirements per recruitment policies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize PVD processes for SiC MOSFET and MEMS applications.
• Characterize thin film properties and troubleshoot process issues.
• Develop high performance film and yield improvement strategies.
• Act as SME for colleagues in integration teams.
• Work with Fab team to establish SPC for thin film module.
• Generate and present reports to internal and external customers.
