SAP Project Manager

As an SAP Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing and implementing SAP projects with a focus on quality, scope, and timely delivery. You will ensure all deliverables meet customer requirements and conform to established processes and standards.

What will you do

  • Establish and prepare project plans, risk management plans, project milestones, and deliverables in consultation with business users and architects/designers.
  • Manage daily project implementation, including schedules, budget, manpower, and quality.
  • Oversee scope definition and change control mechanisms.
  • Analyse and document requirements by liaising with users and managers across distributed organisations.
  • Escalate and discuss project overrun issues, scope changes, integration issues, and resource needs with Project Director/Service Delivery Director.
  • Manage integration of project components such as hardware, software installation, testing, business process review, application development, migration, and data conversion.
  • Monitor project activities to ensure timely delivery, identify critical paths, and adjust schedules as needed.
  • Manage resources including hardware, software, human resources, facilities, and logistics to ensure completion within budget.
  • Review project documentation to ensure it meets customer requirements and quality standards.
  • Define project resources, conduct performance reviews, and lead post-implementation evaluations.

Customer/Vendor Management

  • Negotiate with vendors and teams to ensure adequate resources throughout the project.
  • Build strong relationships with users, technical staff, and management to resolve implementation issues.
  • Manage contracts and subcontractors.
  • Negotiate with customers on change requests, schedules, and prioritisation based on business needs.
  • Maintain clear and open communication with customers on project issues or clarifications.

Team Management

  • Liaise with team members to ensure tasks and deliverables are on schedule.
  • Plan, track, and monitor tasks assigned to team leaders and members.
  • Delegate tasks effectively with clear instructions and goals.
  • Provide leadership to ensure proposals and enhancements are fully analysed and evaluated.
  • Share accurate information about business needs and priorities with the project team.
  • Participate in leadership activities, provide performance feedback, and developmental coaching.
  • Monitor and improve team performance through leadership, coaching, and performance management.

Business Development

  • Proactively identify opportunities for service expansion or improvement and liaise with Account Managers.
  • Participate in pre-sale activities and lead key opportunities as needed.

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • Typically 5 years of SAP project management experience and a minimum of 10 years in IT services.
  • Experience in Singapore Public Sector SAP projects.
  • Past experience in end-to-end SAP project implementation and SAP application support roles.
  • Self-motivated with a positive can-do attitude, creative with excellent presentation, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, including strong persuasive techniques.
  • Ability to lead, develop, and maintain respectful and trusting relationships.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Able to travel as required.
  • Minimum Bachelor Degree.
