Senior Project Manager, Supply Chain/ Warehouse Automation - SL

Our client is a leading player in cold chain and retail logistics sector. They manages end-to-end warehousing and distribution for chilled, frozen, and ambient products. With a focus on automation, sustainability, and operational excellence, it supports major retailers in ensuring timely and efficient inventory replenishment.

The Senior Project Manager, Supply Chain/ Warehouse Automation, will be responsible in contributing to the growth and delivery of the Supply Chain Development & Analytics department. This strategic role requires a senior professional with robust leadership skills, a deep understanding of warehouse operations, and expertise in managing complex automation projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a detailed warehouse automation strategy that aligns with Supply Chain objectives while addressing the specific needs of ambient and cold storage environments.

  • Lead and manage the execution of large-scale warehouse automation projects, ensuring successful integration by overseeing timelines, budgets, risk management, and stakeholder communication throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Identify, assess, and select the most suitable automation technologies (such as robotics, AGV, multi-shuttle systems, sortation, etc.) to enhance operations within the allocated budget.

  • Design and customize automation solutions to meet the specific needs of the warehouse, including layout planning, system integration, and process optimization, while collaborating with vendors to ensure the solutions meet required performance and functionality.

  • Establish key metrics and KPIs to monitor the performance of automated systems, continuously assess operational efficiency, and implement improvements to increase productivity, accuracy, and cost-efficiency, including the creation of training programs.

  • Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in warehouse automation, promoting a culture of innovation and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. Lead pilot projects and proof-of-concept trials to validate and test new technologies.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree or Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Industrial Engineering or Computer Science or a related field.

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in warehouse operations and project management, ideally with hands-on exposure to automation technologies such as robotics, automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS), conveyor systems, warehouse management systems (WMS), and IoT devices.

  • Hands-on involvement in the implementation, maintenance, or optimization of automation systems in warehouse settings is particularly beneficial.

  • Strong experience in financial acumen, change management, regulatory knowledge and solution design.

  • Independent, strong analysis skills and strong team player.
