Purpose:
- Drive and deliver assigned capital projects with zero safety / zero quality incidents and within agreed schedule and authorized budget.
- Assist Capital Lead (Projects), Engineering Director and Project Sponsors to achieve site and department objectives through timely delivery of projects in compliance with EHS / Engineering standards, regulatory requirements, GMP, and GEP.
Key Responsibilities:
- Initiate project business case (STP - Situation, Target & Proposal including cost / schedule / risk), Project Investment Proposal and Justification Paper.
- Lead / coordinate a team of multidisciplinary and multifunctional professionals including engineers, designers, external contractors, safety & GMP professionals, and users to ensure capital project delivery from inception to benefit realization.
- Design facilities that meet user requirements in terms of operability and maintainability, in accordance with GSK EHS and Engineering standards.
- Provide technical specifications of equipment and establish work scope required for successful project implementation.
- Track cost and schedule, project milestones to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
- Initiate Project Change Management (PCM) forms for scope changes, assess impact on cost/schedule, and obtain authorization before proceeding.
- Administer vendor contracts for outsourced projects and manage relationships with contractors for smooth implementation.
- Monitor construction safety on site, ensure compliance with safety requirements, and obtain necessary permits.
- Manage and execute capital project implementation following the Global Project Management Framework (PMF) and GSK Financial Governance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Monitor budget, forecast, and initiate necessary funding extensions proactively.
Key Requirements:
Professional
- Degree in Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of experience in project execution and management in the chemical/pharmaceutical industry
- Experience managing engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) contractors or third-party service providers
- Knowledge of project controls
Technical
- Knowledge of industrial standards
- Knowledge of cost estimation methodology
- Knowledge of project schedule planning and control
- Knowledge of GMP, GEP, GDP, and EHS requirements
- Familiarity with Local Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Knowledge of GSK PM standards, Project Management Framework (PMF), Design & Equipment Standards (DES), and Engineering Standards relating to project management

- Analytical and numerate, capable of assimilating economic and commercial data
