This is a newly created role as part of business expansion. We are a Singapore based company.

The Senior Product Development Manager drives the innovation and development of the organisation's products and services. He/She assesses the industry landscape, reviews existing products and services, and prospects new learning offerings. He/She evaluates performance for products and services, and assesses opportunities for improvement. He/She leads research on market trends and learning developments. He/She assesses the profitability and viability of developing products and services, curriculum, tools and other offerings. He/She drives sales excellence, and manages vendors and key client relationships effectively to establish long-term partnerships.

He/She is forward-thinking, creative, analytical and resourceful. He/She has strong business acumen and is able to take calculated risks at work. He/She typically works in an office environment, and must be able to work at various specific learning venues, client sites or industry events.

  • Analyse competitors' performance to assess market position.
  • Analyse global industry trends to identify business expansion opportunities.
  • Assess current and emerging client needs in context of the organisation's products and services.
  • Assess innovations and new offerings in the context of business performance metrics.
  • Conduct experience reviews with clients to identify areas to improve on their user experience.
  • Conduct research to analyse emerging industry trends.
  • Define priority innovation and research areas based on business objectives and industry analyses.
  • Develop processes and principles for innovation and research activities.
  • Develop strong industry networks across clients, vendors, partners and institutions.
  • Drive collaboration to facilitate research.
  • Evaluate emerging academic and industry research.
  • Evaluate impact of potential government initiatives and regulatory changes on the industry and organisation.
  • Evaluate performance of products and services based on business objectives and performance standards.
  • Evaluate the need for organisation's products and services.
  • Evaluate the organisation's sales strategies to ensure alignment with product development priorities.
  • Identify emerging learning and development tools, products and offerings.
  • Identify sales opportunities by employing a consultative sales approach.
  • Present research findings of innovation projects.
  • Promote productivity and innovation within the organisation.
  • Recommend opportunities to enhance products and services based on business objectives.

Requirements:

At least 10 years experience in b2b product development

At least 4 years experience in a managerial and team management role

Familiar with OEM manufacturers in Asia to coordinate product development, product testings, etc

Degree in business, engineering, marketing or related field

Strong ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, manage projects and drive results

Able to develop and implement product strategies that's aligned with company goals

Proficiency in market research and analysis to identify trends, customer needs and competitive landscape

Solid understanding of hardware technical aspects of product development

Strong business and financial acumen
