Job summary

Codex Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Product Designer to lead end-to-end design for complex digital products, systems, and user journeys. You will translate business goals, user insights, and operational needs into scalable, intuitive experiences, owning the full design lifecycle from research to high-fidelity UI.

You will mentor junior designers, contribute to design standards, and collaborate with product managers, analysts and engineers to ensure a user-centric delivery.

We are looking for an experienced and user-focusedSenior Product Designerto lead end-to-end design for complex digital products, systems, and user journeys.

The Senior Product Designer will be responsible for translating business goals, user insights, and operational needs into scalable, intuitive, accessible, and high-quality product experiences. This role requires strong ownership across the full design lifecycle, including user research, journey mapping, interaction design, prototyping, usability testing, high-fidelity UI design, design validation, and implementation support.

The candidate will work closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, engineers, and stakeholders to influence product direction, drive design quality, and ensure user-centric thinking is embedded throughout the product delivery process. The role will also mentor junior designers and contribute to the development of design standards, systems, and practices across the team.

Product Design & User Experience

• Lead end-to-end design for complex products, systems, user journeys, and operational workflows.
• Translate business goals, user insights, and product requirements into scalable, intuitive, and user-centric product experiences.
• Create advanced user flows, wireframes, mock-ups, prototypes, interaction models, and high-fidelity UI designs.
• Design user-centric interfaces with accessibility, usability, consistency, and responsiveness in mind.
• Apply human-centred design principles to ensure product experiences are practical, intuitive, and fit-for-purpose.
• Translate wireframes and mock-ups into high-fidelity screens that can be clearly understood and implemented by engineering teams.

User Research & Design Validation

• Conduct and drive user research, usability studies, and design validation activities.
• Gather, analyse, and synthesise user feedback to identify pain points, behavioural patterns, and improvement opportunities.
• Facilitate usability testing sessions with users to validate design decisions and refine product experiences.
• Use research findings and user insights to recommend design improvements and influence product direction.
• Advocate for evidence-based design decisions rather than assumptions or preferences.

Design Systems & UX Standards

• Drive consistency across products through scalable design systems, reusable components, UX standards, and UI guidelines.
• Contribute to the development, maintenance, and improvement of design systems and design documentation.
• Ensure design outputs are aligned with accessibility, responsiveness, and usability best practices.
• Promote consistency in interaction patterns, visual design, and user experience across product teams.
• Review and provide guidance on design quality, usability, and implementation accuracy.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Business Analysts, engineers, and stakeholders to shape product direction and delivery priorities.
• Work with teams to define user journeys, product requirements, UI/UX requirements, and design acceptance considerations.
• Facilitate design workshops, stakeholder discussions, ideation sessions, and user journey mapping activities.
• Communicate design rationale, trade-offs, and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Balance business objectives, technical feasibility, operational constraints, and user experience considerations.

Agile Delivery & Implementation Support

• Work within Agile development cycles and integrate UX work into sprint and release planning.
• Support backlog refinement, sprint planning, design reviews, and implementation clarification where required.
• Work closely with development teams to ensure accurate implementation of approved designs.
• Provide design specifications, interaction behaviours, assets, and implementation guidance to engineering teams.
• Review implemented features and provide feedback to ensure alignment with intended user experience and design quality.

Mentoring & Design Capability Development

• Mentor junior designers and provide guidance on design thinking, UX practices, UI quality, prototyping, and stakeholder engagement.
• Contribute to design capability development through sharing of templates, standards, practices, and lessons learnt.
• Advocate for user-centric thinking and accessibility best practices across teams.
• Support continuous improvement of design practices, processes, and ways of working.
• Promote a culture of collaboration, curiosity, experimentation, and design excellence.

Qualities We Value

• Degree in Interactive Design Engineering, Digital Media, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, Design, or a related discipline.
• Alternatively, extensive professional experience with demonstrated impact and relevant expertise may be considered in lieu of formal academic qualifications.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in UI/UX design, product design, interaction design, front-end engineering for digital products, or related roles.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design work for digital products, including research, user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, interaction design, high-fidelity UI, and delivered outcomes.
• Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, or equivalent.
• Experience conducting user research, usability testing, and gathering design feedback.
• Strong understanding of user-centred design, interaction design, accessibility, usability, and responsive design principles.
• Able to translate user needs, business goals, and technical constraints into practical and scalable product design solutions.
• Proficient in UI design and familiar with front-end libraries or frameworks such as React, Tailwind, or equivalent.
• Familiar with integrating UX work into Agile development processes.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with Product Managers, Business Analysts, engineers, and stakeholders.
• Strong communication and visualisation skills, with the ability to explain design decisions, trade-offs, and recommendations clearly.
• Ability to guide junior designers and contribute to design standards, systems, and capability development.
