Job summary

A leading technology company is seeking a Power Electronics Engineer to develop battery charger systems and ensure compliance with safety standards. Located in Singapore, this role requires a strong background in electrical engineering and at least 3 years of relevant experience. Ideal candidates will be proficient in schematic design and PCB layout, familiar with power electronics design, and experienced with test equipment and simulation tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in power electronics design.
  • Proficiency in power supply design and charging systems.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development of power electronics for battery chargers.
  • Topology selection, circuit design, component selection, and power loss calculations.
  • Schematic and PCB layout design.
  • Creating and executing test and verification plans.
  • Ensuring safety and certification compliance.
  • Promptly resolving design issues.
  • Liaising with various stakeholders.
  • Effective communication within a diverse team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in power electronics design.
  • Proficiency in topology selection, circuit design, component selection, and power loss calculations.
  • Experience in CC/CV charger systems and working on power supplies with power levels >500W.
  • Previous experience of using wide bandgap devices will be a plus.
  • Knowledge of digital and analog control methods will be a plus.
  • Working experience in schematic design and PCB layout software, e.g. OrCAD, PADS, or other equivalent software
  • Familiar with simulation tools, e.g. LTspice, PSIM, or other equivalent software
  • Acquainted with test equipment such as AC/DC source, electronic load, oscilloscope, and soldering iron.
  • Experience in volume manufacturing.
